February 22, 2018 - Catacombs, Eiffel, Arc, and Champs Elysees

We had a busy day on February 22nd.  We waited for a long time in line, in bitter cold. to see the catacombs of Paris.  In the 1700s, the city decided to empty cemeteries that had many mass graves in order to make more room in the city.  They moved the bones of millions of people down into underground mines and caves, often arranging the bone artistically.  Now you can tour the rather vast catacombs.  Creepy, but interesting too!

We also ventured up to the top of the Eiffel Tower.  It was cold and beautiful!

We then walked by the Arc de Triomphe and shopped down the Champs Elysees.  Paris is truly beautiful and night!

We finished off the evening with some yummy French cuisine, complete with frog legs and escargot!
